MUSTANG BUSINESS GROWTH DRIVEN BY OWN STORES

Denim and lifestyle brand Mustang is reporting successful growth around the world.  In 2009, the German-based company increased global revenues from €100 million to €108 million. The first quarter of 2010 was also very positive. The company, which employs around 500 people, reported a 4.6% increase in sales with reported profits outpacing forecasts. In Germany, the company now operates 49 Mustang-owned stores and has 10 franchises. Wholesale is also very successful with over 100 new customers in Germany. This summer the company opened a 460 square meter (4,950 square foot) flagship showroom in Düsseldorf and a new 250 square meter (2,690 square foot) showroom in Munich.

Internationally, Mustang is focusing on the Chinese, Indian and Russian markets. The brand made its debut on the Indian market in October 2009 and now has 12 shop-in-shops in New Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Calcutta und Amritsar. Additional store openings are scheduled to take place over the coming months. In Russia Mustang has just opened its fifth company-owned monobrand store. In Poland there are three monobrand stores and in Budapest, Hungary, Mustang has launched its first retail store.
