MONKI TO OPEN FIRST RETAIL STORE IN GERMANYThe young fashion brand Monki is opening its first store in Germany. The shop is located in Hamburg’s Mönckebergstraße and will open on Nov. 6. The store design is playful with a lot of colorful lights and installations. Monki offers affordable clothes for girls whose tastes run from Tokyo street style to Scandinavian fashion design. Aside from clothes, customers can also purchase lingerie, shoes and accessories. The label belongs to the fashion group Fabric Scandinavian that was taken over by the retail giant H&M in the spring of 2008. Together with Weekday, another H&M-shop concept, Monki runs 26 stores in Sweden and Denmark. The group has not commented on its plans for expansion.
