MELTIN’ POT TO RELAUNCH IN U.S.

Italian denim brand Meltin’ Pot is gearing up for a relaunch in North America.

The company appointed M5 Showroom as its exclusive North American distributor, based on the showroom’s past experience with luxury and high-end retailers and brands such as C.P. Company, Stone Island and Woolrich.

M5 founder Michael Burns said: “We are excited to be handling the relaunch of Meltin’ Pot and also following in-depth research from previous clients, we found that there is great demand for this authentic Italian brand. We will be relaunching Meltin’ Pot in the North and in Canada initially and targeting key high-profile retailers.”

Meltin’ Pot, whose annual turnover last year hit the €180m mark, was created in 1994 by Romano SpA, one of the oldest denim manufacturers in Italy.

M5 will begin working with the brand for its S/S 2010 collection and its new capsule collection called MP001 featuring two jeans fits with a variety of treatments, including three-dimensional fabric effects, bleach and special tints. Shorts, denim shirts and jackets with selvage detailing, and summer knits round out the collection.
