Levi’s announces new global leadership appointmentsLevi’s has announced several staff changes on senior management level. The changes are effective immediately and were implemented in order “to include a global product creation, merchandising and marketing structure to help increase our share of consumers’ closets around the world,” as James Curleigh, executive vice president and president of the Levi’s brand, put it.
Jennifer Sey, the current Senior Vice President of E-commerce, will become global chief marketing officer for the Levi’s brand, responsible for marketing strategies across all of the Levi’s brand product categories. Sey joined Levi Strauss & Co. in 1999 and has held a variety of leadership positions, including senior vice president of marketing for Dockers and vice president of global marketing for Levi’s.
Karyn Hillman joins the company in the newly created position of chief product officer for Levi’s. In this role, she is responsible for developing product assortments and creating product stories across the men’s and women’s businesses worldwide. Hillman has been with Gap for 20 years and most recently worked as global head of product creation at Calvin Klein Jeans and Accessories.
Grant Barth, current head of Levi’s men’s merchandising team, will take the newly created position of chief merchandising officer. Before joining Levi’s in early 2013, Barth was with Nike for 16 years where he held various leading positions in merchandising.
Sey, Hillman and Barth will all report to James Curleigh in their new roles.
Jonathan Cheung, current vice president of Merchandising for men’s tops, will be Levi’s new head of design. In this role, he takes responsibility for both the men’s and women’s design teams and reports into Karyn Hillman. Cheung joined the company in 2009 as lead designer for the Levi’s Made & Crafted collection. Prior to that, he held design and research positions at several international brands including Armani Jeans, Iceberg and Moschino.
