HAUTE HIPPIE OPENS 2ND NYC STORE TODAYHaute Hippie, the New York-based fashion brand by Trish Wescoat Pound that is known for its rocker-bohemian (“Ro-Bo”) style, debuts its second freestanding store in Manhattan today.
The 74sqm shop is on the Upper East Side at 1070 Madison Avenue on the corner of 81st Street. The brand’s first New York store, at 9 Prince Street in Nolita, opened in January.
Like its sister location downtown, the new shop features a “Ro-Bo” décor that includes cowhide rugs, rhinestone-embellished longhorns and crystal chandeliers. It stocks the full range of Haute Hippie and haute hoodie collections, plus a few items that were chosen especially for the space. It is currently stocked with spring 2012 offerings, which include embellished silk dresses, studded leather jackets, sequin mini skirts and accessories such as jewelry, fringed bags and studded belts.
“We are so delighted to open our second Haute Hippie retail location in New York City and to be able to present our haute world to the Upper East Side of Manhattan,” says Pound. “Both the Haute Hippie and haute hoodie brands speak to a breadth of consumers and Madison Avenue is such a dream retail location that we feel both excited and privileged to find ourselves here. Our hope is to open our world up to an ever greater number of RoBo women and global nomads and further develop our presence in the City.”
