Gas expands in Russia

Russia represents for Gas a highly strategic market, thanks to an already established collaboration partnership with Moscow-based Casa della Moda.

In 2013 the Italian jeans specialist is opening new stores in Russia, adding to the five–in Rostov, Krasnodar, Samara, Novorossiysk and Kazan–in existence in 2012. Three of these new shops have already debuted. June 2013 saw a Gas store opening in the shopping mall Gorky in Chelyabinsk, an important city on the border with Kazakistan, and one store each in the Gold Babylon and Goryzont shopping malls in Rostov, in Southern European Russia. By end of this summer Gas also expect to open two new stores in Krasnodar and Ufa.

All these stores are characterized by a new concept already presented in recently opened stores such as Madrid, Tokyo, Hyderabad and Bilbao. The new concept is a balanced mix of natural materials and innovative technology that mixes leather seats, Italian chestnut and crystal and metal structures and a semi-circular denim wall.

Thanks to its flexibility and versatility this new concept can adapt itself to the needs of important retailer Jeans Symphony in the Mega Belaya Dacha shopping mall as well as to the shop-in-shop Butik.ru newly inaugurated in the Arcadia shopping mall. By August Gas will also open a shop-in-shop in Smolensk in the shop Arca.

Wholesale distribution will also be involved throughout 100 key retailers of most important Russian cities–from its Western European part to Vladivostok, in extreme Eastern Russia.

During the September edition of CPM in Moscow Gas will present its new s/s 2014 collection and will officially inaugurate its new showroom, already operating since June, through which the company sells its apparel and accessory collections for men and women. The space is in the newest fashion district Danilovskaya Manufactura inside a 19th century red brick former industrial building where other international European brands also maintain their Moscow headquarters.

“Russia represents a great opportunity for Gas," says Claudio Grotto, president and founder, Gas. “Our company can offer most demanding and fashion-conscious consumers a lifestyle collection characterized by great quality and research at an adequate price. Many partners have already trusted us. In the next months we expect eight openings between franchising stores and shop-in-shops. And for the first semester of 2014 our operations are already in an advanced phase. For this reason we expect that at least five new stores will open by June 2014."
