GÖRTZ HONORED FOR QUALITY OF SERVICE

The German Institute of Service Quality (Deutsches Institut für Servicequalität, DISQ) has honored shoe retailer Görtz with the German Service Award in collaboration with TV news station n-tv. The Hamburg-based company won in the non-food category and is among 39 awarded companies. Owner Friedrich Görtz, who accepted the prize at the award ceremony on February 1, said: “I am very pleased that Görtz was accorded this honor, not only because receiving an award is a joy, but above all because it demonstrates that we do a good job for our customers.”

The institute analyzed over 430 companies from eleven categories and merged 40 service studies that were utilized by industry. Key factors were offerings, web presence, payment terms, waiting time, customer service and competence.

As of December 2001, Görtz was already on top of the overall DISQ rankings for both the ‘Shoe Shops 2011’ and ‘Best Offer’ categories. For this study, 110 shoe shops from eleven chains ranging from entry level to high-end were considered. Görtz convinced the jury of being the ‘Best Shoe Shop of 2011’ because of its helpful and competent staff, attractive and open store atmosphere and its offerings.
