GINA TRICOT EXPANDS IN GERMANYAfter having opened stores in Frankfurt and Berlin in the beginning of the month, Swedish fashion retailer for women, Gina Tricot, has opened its second store in Düsseldorf last week. Following its expansion strategy in Germany, the company will add two further stores in Dortmund and Wuppertal in spring of 2012 to its already existing stores in Cologne, Düsseldorf (2), Hannover, Braunschweig, Oldenburg, Essen, Frankfurt, and Berlin.
The store on Berlin’s Friedrichstrasse 94 was opened with a huge opening and has a retail space of 600sqm. The second store in Düsseldorf is located on Schadowstrasse 65 and also measures a sales floor of 600sqm. Marc Wittke, Managing Director of Gina Tricot Germany, said: “Our German customers like the collection very much. The Scandinavian fashion seems to match the taste of customers very well."
According to the company, Gina Tricot will achieve a turnover of SEK 2.3 billion in 2011. It is shared across about 170 stores in five countries and extensive online sales.
