DENIM BY PREMIÈRE VISION: VISITOR NUMBERS RISE BY 24%

For its 7th edition and for the second time in the Halle Freyssinet - Denim by Première Vision (Dec. 1-2) registered 2,088 visits in two days, nearly 24% more compared to the December 2009 edition, with international visitor numbers increasing by nearly 27% and accounting for almost 70% percent of entries (68% in December 2009).

Leading visitor countries all showed increased numbers: Following France and Italy, each of which went up by 18%, Turkey showed one of the highest rises in visits with a plus of 43%. In spite of weather conditions, visits of Northern European countries went up: Germany (+26%), United Kingdom (+17%), and the Netherlands (+18%).

Also significant were visists from Spain (+11.5%) which held its position in the country rankings, while Tunisia showed a significant breakthrough, entering the Top Ten, and thus establishing itself firmly as a now essential player in the denim sector in the Mediterranean Basin. American buyers had a particularly good presence with a 41.5% increase, recognizing Denim by Première Vision as the international show in the sector.

The following companies came to the show: 7 for all Mankind (USA), Citizens of Humanity (USA),Corleone (France), Marithé & François Girbaud (France), Diesel (Italy), Guess (Italy), G Star (the Netherlands), Pepe Jeans (the Netherlands), Acne (Sweden), Nudie (Sweden), Cheap Monday (Sweden), Levi Strauss (Belgium), Wrangler (Belgium), Polo Ralph Lauren (USA), Tommy Hilfiger (the Netherlands), Levi’s, Armani Exchange (USA), Scotch & Soda (the Netherlands), All Saints (UK), and le Temps des Cerises (France).

Among designer brands, there were visitors from maisons such as Marc by Marc Jacobs (USA), Balenciaga (France), Chanel (France), Christian Dior (France), Louis Vuitton (France), Gucci Group (Italy), Paul Smith (UK), Hugo Boss (Germany) and Max Mara (Italy).

Also significant was the presence of visitors from Adidas (Germany), Bershka (Spain), Zara (Spain), Jennyfer (France), Etam (France), Ted Baker (UK), H&M (Sweden), JC Penney (USA), La Redoute (France), and TopShop (UK).

With 70 exhibitors from 18 countries, an increase by 11% over the December 2009 session, Denim by Première Vision presented industry operators a selected offer, in line with their calendar and their specific needs.

Before rejoining the whole community of jeanswear insiders at the Halle Freyssinet on the new dates of May 25-26, 2011 for the fall/winter 2012/13 season, the denim's fashion segment will be getting together at Première Vision at the Atelier Denim on Feb. 8-10, 2011, for the second edition of an area entirely dedicated to denim in the Relax universe.
