COTTON USA SUMMIT TARGETS SOCIAL NETWORKS

More than 450 managers from 24 countries of the cotton industry came to the Cotton Council International Cotton USA Sourcing Summit in California under the motto “Strengthening Enduring Partnerships”. Cotton Council International Executive Director Allen A. Terhaar welcomed the audience with the words “It is our duty to inform the industry early of worldwide developments to give them the opportunity of leadership.”

Jack Uldrich, President of NanoVeritas Group explained: “In the future, new technologies can help the consumers to get all necessary information from the cotton plant, production and sustained efforts.” In his eyes, especially social networks are getting more and more important as he said: “We can only be able to follow the changes in the society and the new technologies with social networks.” In general, social networks in the cotton industry were the most important target of the Cotton USA Summit.

During the summit, Levi´s President and CEO John Anderson explained the new worldwide strategies of the company. “The consumers are global,” Anderson said. He also pointed out the importance of cotton for Levi´s as a jeans company.
