CHIC BEIJING TO CELEBRATE ITS 20TH ANNIVERSARYCHIC Beijing will celebrate its 20th anniversary during the next edition, held from March 26-29, 2012. China International Clothing & Accessories Fair (CHIC), the largest and one of the most important fashion fairs in Asia, has been successfully held in the past 19 years and prepares for the big birthday.
Most of the participants as well as the joint participations in 2011 (more than 1,000 brands) confirmed already to attend CHIC’s anniversary edition. Many events will highlight the 20th jubilee including designers' shows in the fashion forum as the show center. Again, organizers of CHIC will innovate the concept of the tradeshow which will be structured into clear segments of womenswear, menswear, sport/casual/denim/outdoor, leather & fur/down clothing, fashion accessories, fashion originality/designers, kidswear and body/beachwear. The Overseas Pavilion covered in 2011 a size of 25,000sqm with participations from the United States, France, Italy, Germany, South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan and more.
The important function of CHIC as a market entry platform has convinced the German Government to sponsor the German participation in the next edition of CHIC Beijing. Several German brands have already expressed their interest to participate in this tradeshow. In 2011, brands like Gerry Weber, Taifun, Apanage Femme & Apanage Collection, Gardeur, Oui, Marc Cain, Luisa Cerano, Paddocks, Benvenuto by Leithaeuser, Steiff and more presented their collections. The German Pavilion will be prearranged by Messe Düsseldorf International.
CHIC started in 1993 as an international platform to gather the business partners from all over the world. Among them famous fashion brands exhibited like Valentino, GF Ferre and Pierre Cardin. It remains a tradition that national pavilions from France and Italy showcase at CHIC. The biggest international participation has been registered last year with more than 1,000 brands from 19 countries and regions and more than 110,000 visitors. The visitors' structure consists of department stores, apparel agents, store representatives from all over China. 5% are coming from overseas. CHIC has developed into a grand fashion gathering which combines a wide range of fashion from womenswear, menswear, kidswear, designers' collections, jeans/sportswear, outdoor and body/beachwear.
