(CAPSULE) NEW YORK WOMEN’S KICKS OFF WITH SEVERAL INNOVATIONSThe (capsule) New York Women’s show today celebrates its debut at the new venue at Center 548, a stunning old factory building that was once home to the DIA art foundation. During the two-day event which takes place for the second time now and is held during New York Women’s Market Week, organizers expect about 1,500 visitors who are eager to see the s/s 2011 collections from an international assemblage of the market’s most coveted brands. “The NY women’s market has long been in need of a show that exemplifies the progressive spirit and cutting edge feel of some of its brightest stars,” says Minya Quirk, co-founder of BPMW, the agency that produces (capsule).
Exhibitor highlights at (capsule) New York Women’s include collections by Stockholm-based Carin Wester, Danish designers Henrik Vibskov and Stine Goya or Berlin-based label Boessert/Schorn, just to name a few. Newcomers to the show for example include footwear designer Camilla Skovgaard, LNA and Reality Studio. In addition, attendees of the show can look forward to a special brand assortment at the Nordic New York at (capsule) area showcasing some of the top Nordic brands on the market.
Moreover, (capsule) has partnered with New York Magazine for New York Shop Walk with two days (Sep. 21 and 22) of deals and events throughout the Lower East Side in order to boost business and support the community.
The (capsule) show was launched in 2007 by NY-based agency BPMW to epitomize a vision of forward progress and serve the progressive fashion market. Currently (capsule) takes place ten times a year in New York, Paris and Las Vegas. The debut of (capsule) Paris Women’s, (Oct. 1-3) during the Paris Women’s Ready-to-Wear collections will close the long show season.
