BURTON EXPANDS IT'S REACH IN AUSTRALIABurton (burton.com) is spreading the message of looking good on the slopes with the opening of its fifth office in Sydney, Australia, in the former location of Expression Sports Australia (ESA) (the company's regional distributor for sixteen years before it recently became a part of Burton's global office network). The new office is to service all Burton brands in the region, including Burton Snowboards, Analog, ANON, Gravis, The Program and R.E.D. with sales, marketing, product and shared services staff.
"With our growing team of skateboarders and surfers, the Australian market presents a major opportunity for Burton and its family of brands," says Laurent Potdevin, CEO of Burton. "Setting up a stronger foothold in Australia will allow us to strengthen our year-round presence in all three boardsports in this very important region."
The new office will give Australia-based team athletes like Analog surfer Koby Abberton, ANON surfer Dion Agius, ANON snowboarder Robbie Walker, Burton's Max Cookes, The Program's Mikey Williams and Analog skateboarders Luke Croker and Corbin Harris a home base to drop by and check in with local marketing, product and sales staff.
Wes Fabb, former owner of Expression Sports Australia, will assume a new role as General Manager of Burton Australia and oversee a staff of approximately 24 sales, marketing, product and shared service (finance, distribution and customer service) employees. Burton Australia joins a handful of Burton offices around the world, including its global headquarters in Burlington, Vermont; Burton Sportartikel in Innsbruck, Austria; Burton Japan in Tokyo and offices for Analog, Burton, Gravis and The Program in Irvine, California.
