BURTON ANNOUNCES DATE FOR BURTON EUROPEAN OPEN

The 12th annual Burton European Open (BEO), a competition on Europe’s largest halfpipe, will take place Jan. 8-15, 2011. Women, men and kids are competing in Switzerland’s leading freestyle resort Laax to win the second edition of the Burton Global Open Series (BGOS). Founded by Jake Burton, 400 competitors, including the cream of the crop of international snowboarders, will arrive to win prestigious titles, a $125,000 endowed prize, as well as a ranking in the BGOS. Many professionals have started their careers at BEO, such as Olympians Peetu Piiroinen and Enni Rukajärvi.

At a height between 2,000 and 3,000 metres above sea level, Laax is one of the most reliable resorts to find snow. With a total area of 220 km of slopes and four snow parks, it is known to host the most exciting events of the season. After the contests, there will be several concerts and DJ acts.
