BRUUNS BAZAAR APPOINTS NEW CREATIVE DIRECTORRebekka Bay has been appointed as the new Creative Director at Bruuns Bazaar. From April 1st, 2011, she will start with new conceptions for the design of the Danish fashion brand. “My ambition is to give already strong brands an even sharper signature, and to create timeless and modern collections which, with the focus on quality and craftsmanship, are relevant in relation to a contemporary lifestyle.”
As former creative director at COS, Bay managed international stardom and success with her collections since 2005 with a mix of high-class fabrics in a minimalistic look that established the label between street and high-fashion. Bay’s predecessor at Bruuns Bazaar, Björn Brunn, will continue to be part of the management team.
In addition to this change, the company will take a new focus on Germany. Many successful years in Scandinavia, France, the United Kingdom and Benelux have set the premises for the German market. In the past years, there was some irregular appearance on the German market but no clear commitment. Julia Nicklas, the new export chief, already has experience in the German area and knows the essential steps to take. A new location, next to the existing showroom in Düsseldorf, will be established in Munich, and the participation in Premium in summer 2011 is already scheduled.
