BRIGHT: SUCCESSFUL BERLIN DEBUTSimultaneously to Bread & butter, Premium and Berlin fashion week, Bright, tradeshow for streetwear and skateboarding, had its debut in its new hometown Berlin last week. Located at the former headquarters of DDR's secret police organization – the Stasi – based in the Lichtenberg neighborhood of Berlin, right from the beginning the tradeshow attracted more international visitors compared to former editions taking place in Frankfurt am Main.
Marco Aslim, CEO of Bright: “Bright is very international und we are happy to see that our concept works out. For this edition, we previously already had about 55% registrations from abroad; in Frankfurt we had only 15%. We are convinced that we made the right decision moving to Berlin.”
So far numbers aren’t announced but also exhibitors – again about 300 brands and collections from the streetwear, skatebaording and sneaker business participated – were satisfied both with frequency and internationality. Stephan Auls, Sales representative of Quiksilver, was very satisfied with the quality of visitors: „Moving to Berlin was the right step, the audience is more international. We saw mainly Spanish and Italian buyers, visitors that are certainly attracted by Bread & butter.” Furthermore, more international headquarters were exhibiting. As a result, stands were bigger than in Frankfurt and were presented in a more creative and special way.
Apart from exhibited collections, Bright offered lots of activities with skateboarding contests and several exhibitions. For the first time, a whole floor gave room to art projects. Parties and side events such as the skateboarding tour of Tony Hawk by Quiksilver completed Bright’s offer.
