AHLERS AG ANNOUNCES NUMBERS & BALDESSARINI LEAD
The Ahlers group further announced its results of the first quarter of its fiscal year. Its plus in revenue of 5.9% (€70.5m) are mainly driven by Ahler’s premium segments, with brands such as Baldessarini, Pierre Cardin and Otto Kern, which have recorded a plus in revenue of 10.3% (€43m). The premium lines contribute to 61% of the total turnover. The jeans and workwear segment also reached an increase of 3% while the men’s and sportswear segment dropped by 0.6%, mainly due to the company’s handover of its shirt business Jupiter to a joint venture in 2010. Ahler’s own retail sales increased by 19%, accounting for 8.7% of the overall group volume.
Chairwoman of the board Dr. Stella A. Ahlers commented: “The success of our premium brands Baldessarini, Pierre Cardin and Otto Kern continues.“ However, despite its success, Ahlers remains conservative and expects only moderate revenues and results for this fiscal year. The group plans to focus on its own retails and more shop-in-shops.
