ADIDAS AND SAMSONITE TEAM UP FOR Y-3Adidas and Samsonite have signed a new licensing deal. Samsonite will assume full responsibility for manufacturing and distribution of Y-3 accessories, and will become the worldwide licensee of Y-3 bags, travel goods and leather accessories. The partnership commences with the Spring/Summer 2010 collection.
Y-3, a collaboration between Adidas and renowned Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto, represents a new category within the fashion and sportswear market. Adidas represents sport, Yohji Yamamoto represents style; together, they create a unique brand of sports style.
“Y-3 has been born from the fusion of the seeming opposites of sport and style. Together with Adidas we worked on forming something that didn’t exist and that would completely project the future,” Yohji Yamamoto, Creative Director of Y-3, said.
