Weaving a denim heritage passed from generation to generation...

Founded in 1953, Orta transformed from a spinning & weaving company to a denim fabric producer in 1985. Today, Orta produces over 60 million meters of denim in its Turkey and Bahrain factories.

Transparency, commitment and trustworthiness are the key elements of Orta’s philosophy. This has echoed throughout the years, like 3D:Denim, Dream, Design event in 2007, when Orta brought local denim manufacturers together with international denim brands in Istanbul.

Orta is the first denim fabric supplier to present its collection in Bread and Butter history.

In 2009, Orta used 3% of organic cotton in its production without quoting an extra cost.

Currently, Orta uses 5% better cotton (BCI) in all its production.

Orta’s showing its collections in Denim by PV Paris and Shanghai, Munich Fabric Start, Bread and Butter Berlin, Premium Japan and Colombiatex.

As a company that incorporates emerging trends and fashion in its denim production, Orta collaborates with artists, designers, vintage dealers and trend-setters. Every season, new Orta fabrics are accompanied by trend presentations, capsule packages, and seasonal journals reflecting the constantly evolving world of denim.

Aiming to be a leading denim brand pursueing sustainable lifestyles and production, Orta founded its sustainability division Orta Blu in 2010. It aims to communicate Orta’s efforts in resource management and conservation, launch Social Missions, promote upcycling concept and create an online community driven by your interest in fashion, jeans and style all under the umbrella of a sustainable lifestyle.

Orta Blu is the sustainability division of Orta Anadolu, one of the world’s largest denim manufacturers based in Turkey. Our mission is as follows:

HUMAN DENIM / OLD LOOM

Love of authentic denim.The adaptation of vintage denimgracefully modernized by Orta’s unique fabric technology.

INDIGO RUNWAY / WINTER BLUES

Of blues there is only one real dye, indigo(William Morris, 1834-96)

No other dyestuff has been so widely and for so long. One of world’s oldest dyes, it remains the last natural dye used in places that have embraced synthetic dyes for every colour. Even allowing for changing visual perceptions over the centuries, all the discoverers of Indigo dyestuff must surely have been amazed and delighted by its colour, for most available hues in the ancient world are related to the earth palette.

Winter Blues is the dedicated story of indigo. Yarn dyed, overdyed, indigo coated . Blacks and blue-blacks.

Rich and vivid contrast, while keeping a natural hand-feel in rigid and stretch.

HERO-TECH / RAWTECH

The perfect solution for Raw Denim.

Rawtech is a high-tech denim process nominately designed for raw silhouttes developed from rigid and stretch constructions.

The idea behind Rawtech finish is to develop high-elasticity stretch fabrics with good growth and recovery but having the shrinkage levels of 100% CO.

In other words, fabrics fit like stretch but shrinks like rigid.

The high performance of Raw-tech products ensures perfect fitting with lower shrinkage values both in warp and weft directions.

Improved crocking performance for raw look and versatile washings.

Applicable to extended variety of construction and colours.

HERO-TECH / DARE DENIM

Dare Denim supports environmentally friendly processes to produce sustainable and functional products. A family of performance denim developed with special fibers and chemicals.

High-tech fibers providing durability and toughness.

Water-repellent finishes.Thermo-regulation. Abrasion-resistance. Anti-bacterial properties.

HERO-TECH / FITSWELL

Advanced denim technology for everyday use. Looking good and feeling comfortable is not enough. We want our denims to stretch when needed and return immediately to perfect form. Premium looking performance stretch both in denim and ready-to-dye fabrics. Constructions designed in a range of 9-12 oz. with variety of compositions such as cotton, lyocell ,viscose, polyester, elastane to acquire soft hand feel and improved recovery & growth values. Increased physical performance with higher tensile and tear strength and lower weft shrinkage values.

ORTA BLU / TRADITIONAL WEAVERS

Orta through its sustainability division, Orta Blu, wants to revive the local Traditional Weaving Craft by increasing the amount of looms, providing better salaries for the weavers and, above all, create a more viable business model so that the weavers and their products will be able to take advantage of a more global system of sales and distribution.
